Warts Removal: First Time

I had facial warts removal for the first time yesterday. I availed of the Mendez promo from Metrodeal. I had it done on their Farmers Plaza branch in Cubao. So far, everything went Ok. The only problem I had was actually locating their clinic, the address specified in the Metrodeal voucher was ambiguous. It had something like:

FARMERS - Aurora Tower - Araneta Center, Cubao.

Now, I was confused whether their clinic was in Aurora Tower, in Farmers Plaza or in Araneta Center... Goddamn Metrodeal voucher. Anyways, this is the second service I availed from Mendez clinics, the first one was an IPL session in Megamall (which unfortunately, was not satisfactory to me - but that would be discussed in another blog post).

Their attendants were kind and accomodating. Their clinic however, was small and had poorer ambiance than other clinics, like for instance SkinStation. But it was not that bad at all, I was comfortable all the time I was there. The therapists recommended that I should avail of their facial services first. I agreed since it is better to have a clean face before having warts removal. After my facial, they applied topical anesthesia to parts of my face. I was lying in their bed for about 30 minutes or so to let the drug take effect on my skin.

When the warts removal procedure finally came, I was really nervous yet excited. I already know what my face would look like after the procedure since I saw other people who have undergone it before. (Basically your face will be filled with black tiny dots all over). The dermatologist used the machine to zap - or literally burn each tiny warts on my face. Most of the time, the zap was tolerable, however, there were some areas on my face that were not applied with anesthesia, so some zaps were quite painful. (As in pinapaso ka ng mainit na toothpick kada zap - that was the sensation, a very hot toothpick pricking your face). The dermatologist said to me that: "Ang tamang mo ah, dibale, tiis ganda lang yan!". I had the impression that other clients were probably jittery and panicky when undergoing the procedure. I was actually very quite the whole time with my eyes closed. I can say that having facial cleaning is actually more painful than the warts removal session itself.

After the procedure I was recommended to buy their cream to apply to my face for three days. So I paid 700 pesos that day. 200 pesos for my facial cleaning. 500 pesos for the cream. The voucher for the warts removal session was only about 300 pesos. So they were able to upsell. But I don't mind because I know that one of the purposes of companies offering promos is that they could somehow upsell. Also, the price of the warts session is originally 5000 pesos, so in my mind, I still believed that I still had more of my money's worth. So all in all, the warts session with them for me is ok. Now, I am just waiting for my 2nd session of IPL in Mendez Megamall - hopefully, things will be better than the first session.

IPL Hair Removal Ripoff

I have been scouting IPL hair removal prices these past few days in clinics in malls. Not that I would like to undergo the procedure, but I was just curious as to how much they are priced outside of deal sites like Metrodeal. I am actually a fan of Laser Diode hair removal and has sworn never to try IPL again. Can you believe that some clinics out there charge 16K per session for a whole legs IPL hair removal treatment?! Yes! IPL!!! Kaloka. Matatanggap ko pa kung Diode Laser eh, kaso IPL. Goodness, RIPOFF as in TAGA sa presyo. I feel sorry for whoever is unfortunate enough to fall for this ripoff... poor unfortunate souls... Anyway, that is why blogs are here - to warn you and other people.

Ricky Rivero on Forgiveness

Recently I watched an interview of Boy Abundo on Ricky Rivero, the gay survivor of an attempted murder and robbery. Asked whether he has already forgiven the criminal, he replied: "In my heart I believe I have already forgiven him, but I believe that justice has to be served.". Very well said. Justice first comes before forgiveness. This is probably the reason why I can't seem to forgive my mother now. I haven't had any justice from all the wicked things she did to me. Justice is mandatory and is everyone's right to have it. Forgiveness is optional and a privilege given to others. Be thankful if you have been granted that privilege, otherwise, don't demand forgiveness from others just because your Church says so. Forgiveness is not mandatory. Justice is.

My Cell Phone got Snatched in the MRT yesterday

I am just so depressed today. My Samsung Galaxy S which I bought at 36K 7 months ago got snatched in the MRT Ayala Station around 7:00-7:20pm. The phone was just sitting in my pocket with an earphone attached an connected to my ears. When I was about to board the train, I noticed two men were violently pushing me inwards to the train. It was strange that they were pushing me since there were not so many passengers that moment. When I turned to look at them, I suddenly felt a hand brush into my pocket. And then I just saw my earphones dangling with my phone gone. Out of panic, I shouted, "Yung phone ko nawala". A man beside me told me that he saw the snatcher ran outside. I dont know why but I belived him so I ran outside. But as soon as I saw the door closed, that man laughed. He was one of the snatchers. This is so depressing.

3 examples of insincere apologies

1. Kapag may sinabi along these lines: "Sorry na. Masaya ka na?"
2. Kapag nagsorry pero nageexplain pa na sya pa ung kawawa sa inyung dalawa.
3. Kapag may sinabi that goes something like: "Sorry kung feeling mo mali ako."

Someone's good dream

Here is at least one thing I have read that somehow managed to ease a little of my worry and negative feelings and premonitions...

Impending Sense of Doom

Somebody please help me... For the past few weeks I have been feeling this bad premonition that something bad is about to happen. Either to me or someone close to me.
I really do not like this feeling. This negative energy that I feel looming in the future makes me sick to my stomach... :( I have been having vivid and weird dreams lately, which is almost a sure sign that something not to my liking will happen soon. Help. :(

There shall be no reconciliation without justice.

Today is Noynoy Aquino's inauguration as the new Philippine president.
The part of his speech that really made an impact on me was this:

"There shall be no reconciliation without justice."

...Hindi naman pwedeng umupo na lang tayo at mag-usap na parang wala lang nangyari..."

And then I remembered my sadistic mother. This is the exact reason why me and my mother are still estranged.

Kudos Noynoy. You could not have said it better.

I cleared SWCWD! Yey :)

This afternoon, I cleared SCWCD 5 in my first try. :) I am so so happy. My score was only 81%. Normally, I wouldn't be ecstatic with such a score, but considering that I have been away from Java web development for more than a year already, this is a major feat. I am so so happy.

At exactly one year ago: Accenture!

I can still remember myself, at the same day and month, one year ago. I remember having a bad dream after I woke up that morning. The nightmare was so vivid that I can still remember it up to now. I dreamt that my own mother had beheaded me. I dreamt that my spirit was looking at my own severed head. It was so terrifying, it was probably the only dream I can recall where I had died. And then I looked up the meaning of this dream in an online dream dictionary...

See the entry for "Head"

At exactly one year ago, I was among the hundreds of people that Accenture Philippines had laid off. It was really sad and things just happened so fast.

What a dream. How very accurate... this is one of those experiences where I believe that humans have intuition and can actually feel or see part of the future in symbols through dreams.

Samsung ST550: My gift to myself

This month I bought a Samsung ST550 digital camera. I am extremely satisfied with it.

It is 12 MP and it has an LCD both at the front and at the back.

I bought it at a really cheap price: just almost 14K pesos at Kimstore.

The next time I will buy a gadget, I will buy it at Kimstore.

I remember my mother series: 3. Fake apologies.

I remember my mother telling me...

"Sorry, kung feeling mo may nagawa akong mali..."
(Sorry, if you feel I did something wrong...)

She almost killed me and all, and then this is the only thing she has to say...
This is basically an offensive verbal attack disguised as an apology.

I just want to say that whenever someone apologizes to you along these lines, never ever accept it. The sincerity of this person is dubious to say the least.

It is the equivalent of saying:

"I believe that I did nothing wrong to you. But sorry anyway, if that is what you want to hear..."

Anybody who apologizes in this manner should be rejected and not be trusted.

Project using my very own MVC Framework

Gosh, it has been a long time since I last posted in my blog. I just want to put here a project that I finished a couple of months ago. What is special here is that it was made using my own MVC framework.

Here is the url:

ifa-edu.cn

As to why I am making my own MVC framework despite the proliferation of other frameworks out there, well, that is a topic for another blog.

New Laptop

I just bought a new laptop last April 5, 2009. It is a Toshiba Satellite L310.

I bought it at Glorietta during the last day of BPI's Installment Madness promo for the season. Ofcourse, I used my BPI Credit Card to purchase it.

Among the freebees I got were, a free additional 2GB of RAM for my new laptop, a new optical mouse, a 2GB USB thumb drive, a new Nokia cellphone and a palabok value meal from Goldilocks.

Well, it was worth the price (I think) for all the things I received, considering the price is only at 35K.
